![]() New Arrival
May 28, 2022 - This senior Thoroughbred mare arrived at 8:30pm tonight. Her owner died recently and all family members live out of state so there is no one to take care of her. Her name is Star and supposed to be in mid 20s, with little or no back teeth. I estimate her body condition a 2 1/2 to 3 being generous. We have little or no information about her yet. Family members are looking for documents to send us. We are glad they did not take the easy way out and euthanize her, instead they reached out to us. Star will need a vet dental check, deworming and a LOT of senior feed with various senior supplements to get her back in good weight. Please help us help Star to be the best robust senior mare she can be. Donations of Senor Feed, Beet Pulp and Ground Flax, all available at your local feed store are needed as well as funds for vet check up. Thank you for supporting both senior residents and senior horses. To see all of our rescue and sanctuary horses, and read their stories, go to our Meet the Herd page. To help support our efforts, please visit our Donations page and our Volunteers page. All donations are tax-deductible. |
