HorsePlay Days
The newest Wings Program is targeted to veterans, the military, law enforcement and first responders. This program gives those those who have served and currently serve our country and community a chance to hang out with horses and learn some basic horsemanship skills. While this program is not considered therapy and no mental health professionals are in attendance, it gives those exposed to trauma a chance to interact positively with these wonderful animals and experience the natural healing that horses can bring to us. This is a walk-in program, so no reservations are necessary, just show up! Currently our program is running the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month from 4:30-6:00pm. Wear comfortable clothes and bring your own water and any snacks needed. |
HOW EAGALA WORKS
The Eagala Model is a team approach that includes a licensed, credentialed Mental Health Professional, a qualified Equine Specialist, and horses working together with the client in an arena at all times.
When inside the arena, all the work is done on the ground with the horses front and center, deliberately unhindered and never ridden, and allowed to interact with the client as they wish. This creates the space for the client, with the support of the professional facilitators, to reflect, project, and make deep connections. Please Click on the Eagala brochure to get further familiar with our model.
